Expertise

Clinical education

I have been involved in the design, development and delivery of clinical education programmes for 15 years. My experience spans a range of practical settings with a focus on emergency response, pre-hospital care and resuscitation. I have a special interest in employing context-driven delivery strategies to support the attainment of appreciable outcomes in practice.

Systems thinking

With an interest in optimising socio-technical systems, I have experience in the setting of safety-critical project work and process development across a number of settings, from the acute hospital to remote rescue. I have undertaken NHSE PSIRF and SEIPS training supported by HSSIB endorsed safety investigation education, and enjoy engagement with national professional networks with a human factors focus.

Crisis ergonomics

Safe processes can save lives. Time-critical, high-stakes situations call for ergonomic procedural design; minimising complexity whilst supporting autonomous practice with a focus on safety and evidence-based decision-support. I have experience of building these concepts into safety-critical clinical workflows and projects, particularly in the pre-hospital and resuscitation settings.
